Our passion is the education of young children

We bring a perfect balance of education and social experiences to help children 3 to 5 years of age grow and blossom.

Why Montessori Giving Tree?

As Montessori educators, we bring to you the philosphy of Dr. Maria Montessori, her observations and promises.

For over 30 years our mission has been to provide children with experiences rooted in the Montessori philosophy and designed to enrich the learning environment in a way where children not only develop academically, but gain social skills necessary to become responsible young citizens.

With this goal firmly in mind, we strive to provide an affordable and quality Montessori preschool program to motivate and inspire each child, while providing for individual needs and differences.

Testimonials

"As parents and former Montessori educators, we value a nurturing environment where our children can grow and learn as unique individuals. We found that at Montessori Giving Tree tenfold. Our daughter is in her second year at Montessori Giving Tree, and I could not imagine a better start to her education. The teachers at MGT have ignited her excitement to learn, all while giving her a solid social foundation that she will carry with her in future school years. The individualized approach meets each child where they are and helps them grow and develop at a pace that is right for them. This, mixed with the kindness that each child is shown, makes MGT the perfect place to plant roots early in one's education. While I wish my daughter had more time at MGT, I am looking forward to her facing her next journey head-on with all the confidence that she has gained during her time here."

"Our family cannot say enough wonderful things about Montessori Giving Tree! It is hard to put into words, what a special place it has been for our daughter. She has spent two years at MGT and has grown in so many ways. She has made enormous strides academically and socially. The teachers and staff are caring and full of knowledge. I felt so at ease having my child in their care. Our daughter LOVES school and talks about it any chance she gets! When we pick her up at the end of the day, she is always so excited to show us something she made or tell us about something new she learned."

Your little one not quite ready for Kindergarten?

Maybe has a birthday later in the year?

May we suggest our Young 5’s program as a bridge between preschool and kindergarten.

Curriculum will include Montessori Kindergarten practices, but presented in a more manageable pace and skills appropriate to each child.

This program will gift your child with:

  • Increased teacher to student involvement in our Montessori classrooms
  • Increased Literacy and Language development
  • Increased achievement in Math areas

In short, we will equip your child for success in Kindergarten and beyond. Young 5’s program is available in both, our 3 FULL DAY or 5 HALF OR FULL day programs. Prices and registration fees remain the same as preschool.

Before and after school care available for an additional fee.

FAQ

Your child will be in a mixed age group classroom, 3, 4 or some young 5 year olds. The Montessori belief is that the older children will model for the younger children and the younger children will look to the older children for help which makes for a wonderful classroom setting with a feeling of community.

We have a ratio of 1 to 8 or better at all times. Usually with an extra assistant teacher to help as needed.

We have found that most parents make other choices in the summer for their children, therefore we run on a school year calendar, very close to the Southgate and Allen Park Public school calendar.
